Jan & I thought we'd start up a blog about what we're up to as a way to keep in touch with all of you and let you know what we're up to, from special events to vacations, bike races or day-to-day recaps. If nothing else is going on, maybe just a post about what's for dinner! We'll do our best to keep it interesting, so you don't feel like you're getting a Kelly & Jan Christmas newsletter once a week. Sometimes I'll do the writing, sometimes I hope Jan will take over (he's generally a funnier & more entertaining writer than I am!). Feel free to post comments & feedback, if nothing else you all can use our blog as a way to keep in touch with one another as much as with us.
As you all know Jan did the Ride for the Cure last weekend. He rode 102 miles in less than six hours, and finished fifth out of a few hundred riders. Here are a couple of pictures:

This weekend our friends Rachel & Brian got married in Aspen, and since Jan is a hotel guy now, we were lucky enough to stay at The Little Nell all weekend. So fun for us to be on vacation in Aspen for a few days! After the rehearsal on Friday there was a rehearsal dinner at the Hotel Jerome outside in the courtyard. The excitement of the night, other than anticipation about the wedding the next day, was that there was a large male black bear in a tree in the courtyard all night. Aspen Police offices & DOW guys were on hand all night to keep an eye on the bear and ensure that he wouldn't come down from the tree and join us for dinner!
The wedding yesterday was very emotional and beautiful. Rachel of course thought of everything! It was fun for Jan & I to be wedding guests and get sappy thinking about how much fun we had at our wedding - almost a full year ago! Where has the time gone??

Jan rocking a new suit! Love love it, but as I always say, he'd look good wearing a burlap sack.We've got a little over a week to go til we leave for Italy and believe me, we're counting down! We are not going to bring a computer with us so won't be updating the blog but we will take notes and lots of pictures to update when we get back. Hope you all are doing great - let us know!
